Adjuster Certification Overview
Qualified applicants applying for a National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Adjuster Certification are certified through the Adjuster Certification process administered by the NFIP Bureau & Statistical Agent, iService, on behalf of FEMA. All qualified applicants are subject to NFIP standards and requirements. NFIP standards and requirements for Adjuster Certification may be viewed at: http://www.fema.gov/library/viewRecord.do?id=1584 New applicants and adjusters seeking upgrades to their existing certification are required to submit a completed application to the NFIP Bureau & Statistical Agent, iService. NFIP-certified adjusters who are seeking to maintain their active certification status with no change to their existing authorization are not required to submit an adjuster certification application. Once attendance is verified at an annual NFIP Adjuster workshop for the current calendar year, previously certified adjusters are automatically updated in the database maintained by the iService Claims Administration team. New applicants as well as existing NFIP-certified adjusters are required to attend an annual NFIP Adjuster workshop for the current calendar year in order to maintain active certification status.
