SUBJECT:			Continuing Resolution – Program Extension

Congress will not complete action on a number of programs before the end of the fiscal year on September 30, 2009.  Until they are able to do so, they have passed a Continuing Resolution to allow government operations to continue through October 31, 2009.  This includes extending authorization of the National Flood Insurance Program through that date.  This Continuing Resolution has not yet been signed by the President.  He is expected to sign it to keep all of the affected government programs operating after September 30, 2009.

We will keep you informed of actions affecting the program’s reauthorization as details become available to us.
