Online Mapping Tutorials

FEMA has developed a number of multimedia tutorials to provide training and education about different facets of the NFIP for stakeholders who support its FEMA public education and outreach initiatives as part of the FEMA Map Modernization effort. These tutorials are separated into the following categories:

  • Software;
  • NFIP Map Amendments and Revisions;
  • Coastal Theory and Mapping;
  • Geographic Information Systems and Advanced Mapping Technology; and
  • Other Tutorials.

FEMA encourages NFIP contractors and stakeholders to access the Online Tutorials on the FEMA website. On that page, you can view descriptions of the available tutorials, access the tutorials, and obtain information on how to sign up for related e-mail updates.

If you have questions about any of these tutorials or related resources, please contact a Map Specialist in the FEMA Map Assistance Center, at 1-877-FEMA MAP, or e-mail a Map Specialist for assistance. Map Specialists also would like to receive recommended enhancements to the existing tutorials or suggestions for new tutorials.
